Clarification on Family Pension for Unmarried, Widow, and Divorced Daughters — October 2025 Update by Punjab Finance Department"

         The Department of Finance, Government of Punjab, has issued a new clarification regarding the grant of family pension to unmarried, widow, and divorced daughters. This clarification addresses delayed applications, income certificate requirements, and eligibility conditions. The circular provides much-needed clarity for pension sanctioning authorities and applicants.

1. Pension will be authorized from the date of submission of the income certificate if the case was delayed.
2. For daughters becoming widowed or divorced after the pensioner’s death — pension eligibility shall be determined based on dependency status and marital condition.
3. The clarification will guide all Pension Sanctioning Authorities (PSAs) in Punjab to ensure uniform processing.

This clarification eliminates confusion among departments and beneficiaries, ensuring timely grant of family pension. It’s expected to benefit thousands of unmarried, widow, and divorced daughters of deceased Punjab government employees.
